Second Annual Lynnie’s Light for Life

The family of Lynnie Isaacs Palan (z”l), Nishmah and The J invite the community to commemorate the life of an inspiring woman. Lynnie’s Light for Life takes place on Wednesday, September 4 at 7:30pm at The J’s Staenberg Family Complex Day Camp Pavilion, and is graciously sponsored by The Sidney & Bobbi Guller Family Foundation. Please join us in a spectacular display of love and hope, in honor of Lynnie and our commitment to those in need. This year’s light will come from the flames of bonfires and the performance of fire dancers. It also comes from our first honoree, Michelle Mills, who will inspire and educate us by sharing her own personal health experience with a BRCA2 gene mutation.

Lynnie was a pioneer and leader of both Nishmah: The St. Louis Jewish Women’s Project and Sharsheret Supports St. Louis, a collaborative project of Nishmah and the national, not-for-profit Sharsheret organization. Through her passionate volunteerism and professional work in these organizations and many others, she was dedicated to building vibrant communities and changing lives, especially for individuals living with, or at increased genetic risk of developing cancer. Lynnie lost her battle to breast cancer on April 10, 2018, leaving a legacy of philanthropy among her family and friends. Proceeds from Lynnie’s Light for Life will ensure Sharsheret Supports is present for women and families in all stages of a breast or ovarian cancer journey—from pre-diagnosis, during treatment and while managing life post-treatment.

To attend and/or contribute to Lynnie’s Light for Life, visit and register by August 23. Entry to the event is free and open to all ages. Donations of any amount are appreciated. Tax-deductible donations starting at $100 include a fire log the night of the event to dedicate in honor of or in memory of loved ones.
