Jewish Federation of St. Louis seeks a creative, highly motivated Graphic Designer who will be responsible for the development of creative ideas, designs, and materials that effectively respond to client requirements and appeals to target constituents.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work in concert with Marketing Department team to help clients with graphic materials for projects, developing effective creative designs to promote the work of the clients.
  • Oversight of overall appearance and how to communicate for marketing clients visually, including: print, web, posters, and all other sources that may be needed for projects.
  • Create designs that will appeal to targeted audiences of marketing clients
  • Serve as a creative resource and consultant for clients
  • Design and produce campaign materials, direct mail, print ads, digital ads, one sheets, flyers, logos, etc.
  • Obtain quotes from vendors
  • Create and submit print orders and print files
  • Contribute to the overall success of the Jewish Federation of St. Louis

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a design-related discipline: Art or Graphic Design.
  • Knowledge of the Jewish community is a plus.
  • 3-5 years’ experience working collaboratively in a Marketing Department.
  • Fluent in Mac OS X platform, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, Power Point, and web design applications (i.e. Dreamweaver)
  • Experience with print production, WordPress and MailChimp.
  • Stays abreast of any industry-wide changes in design philosophy and any new tools and technology.
  • Ability to be creative and "think outside the box" to create designs to the standards of Sandals and Beaches advertising and marketing out in the field.
  • Ability to modify designs based on feedback from various departments and managers.
  • Ability to thrive in a self-directed, fast-paced design and production environment delivering a wide range of creative production assets.
  • Excellent time-management, organizational and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities.
  • Solid skills in graphic design including stylistic breadth, an eye for typography, palette development, intuitive layout, and pixel-level attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to take art direction, feedback and critiques constructively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Candidate may be asked to present a graphic assignment for consideration.
  • May be required to work at night or on weekends to assist at special events, to manage workload or to meet deadlines.
