Job Responsibilities

  • Leads content development of marketing and communications materials and messaging
  • Seeks to understand marketing needs of all departments within Federation
  • Responsible for the delivery of marketing plans for all projects, with strategic and timely deadlines
  • Monitors communications within beneficiary agencies to remain current on messaging and branding
  • Ensure consistency with brand standards
  • Maintains branding guidelines
  • Develops communications materials, including but not limited to: direct mail, email, web content, paid advertisements across multiple platforms, press releases, media outreach, social media, podcasts, newsletters, campaign materials, annual reports, etc.
  • Supports Marketing Director by filling in at meetings, when necessary with clients
  • Attending recording sessions for commercial productions
  • Assists with crisis communication coordination, when necessary
  • Work closely with the Creative Manager to develop creative solutions to content needs
  • Manages the creation of photo shoots & video productions
  • Acts as copywriter and editor for all materials, ensuring consistent formatting and proper grammar in all communications
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of communication efforts, presenting results and recommendations for adjustment or improvement as needed
  • Analyze data to gauge employee trends, developing and positioning strategic recommendations based on findings
  • Contribute to the overall success of the Jewish Federation of St. Louis

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field.
  • Knowledge of the Jewish community is a plus.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with an agency or in-house communications team, with at least 3 years in developing and implementing marketing communication programs.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience interacting with and pitching news media on behalf of a company or brand
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience managing social media platforms and posting content for a company or brand
  • Fluent in Adobe programs; Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, InDesign, Acrobat and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with print production, WordPress and MailChimp.
  • Must have a keen eye for current trends in communication and digital communications.
  • Podcast and video production experience
  • Strong background writing in AP Style
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Proficiency in editing
  • Proactive, self-motivated, good-natured, flexible, collaborative, and uniquely creative.
  • Demonstrated ability to take art direction, feedback and critiques constructively
  • Ability to thrive in a self-directed, fast-paced design and production environment delivering a wide range of creative production assets.
  • Excellent time-management, organizational and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in various media platforms.
  • Ability to handle sensitive or confidential information with discretion
  • May be required to work at night or on weekends to assist at special events, to manage workload or to meet deadlines.
