Understanding Our Neighbors

February 16 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Free

Join Shir Hadash Reconstructionist Community for its next monthly Third Shabbat Learning program. Rabbi Roxanne Shapiro of the Interfaith Partnership of Greater St. Louis will lead a discussion on “Understanding Our Neighbors: Interfaith Relations in St. Louis.” Our Torah text teaches us to “love our neighbor as ourselves,” but did it mean everyone? The discussion will explore the status of relations between different faith communities in St. Louis. How and for what purposes do we come together and where are the places that require extra sensitivity? She will highlight some of the efforts of Interfaith Partnership, such as the Sprouts of Peace program for children, and consider where we might be headed in our St. Louis community. RSVP to Carol, stlshirhadash@gmail.com. For more information, visit www.shirhadashstl.info.
