Temple Israel & the Sh’ma Listen Speaker Series Present: Shabbat Services with Dr. Rachel Korazim
Friday, April 24, 2020
At Congregation Temple Israel (#1 Rabbi Alvan D. Rubin Drive, St. Louis, MO 63141)
6:00 pm Pre-Oneg
6:30 pm Shabbat Services & Presentation by Dr. Korazim
7:30 pm Dessert Oneg Reception and Meet & Greet

Topic: Echoes from the Holocaust
The Holocaust and the creation of the state of Israel are probably the most important historical milestones in modern Jewish history. Dr. Korazim will explore the ways Israeli society deals with the Shoah as a significant influence on who we are and how we behave, and share reflections of the Holocaust in recent and older works to wrap our minds around the changes in understanding from different Israeli perspectives.

Everyone is invited to join us for this special evening with Dr. Rachel Korazim.

About Dr. Rachel Korazim: Dr. Korazim is a freelance Jewish education consultant in curriculum development for Israel and Holocaust education. She engages audiences worldwide through innovative presentations built around the stories, poems, and songs of Israel’s best writers. Her thought-provoking talks open a window into Israeli society, inviting listeners to engage with the country and its history in new ways. She teaches at Israel’s well-known learning centers such as Pardes and the Shalom Hartman Institutes as well as in numerous Jewish communities worldwide.

This program is in partnership with Jewish Federation of St. Louis’s Sh’ma Listen! Speaker Series and is made possible by Temple Israel’s Daniel & Bella Woolf Fund, in memory of Bella Woolf.
