Our Journey Now: Jewish Wisdom for Growing Older from the Reconstructionist Movement

May 7 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Many empty-nesters and seniors have great energy and talent that they’d like to channel in ways that build meaning and give strength to causes and communities they believe in.

Shir Hadash Reconstructionist Community will host Rabbi Maurice Harris, Associate Director for Thriving Communities and Israel Affairs Specialist at Reconstructing Judaism, for a chance to study some of what Jewish tradition has to say on how we can harness that desire and make the chapters of the second half of life compelling and exciting.

A complimentary vegetarian Chinese dinner will be served.

Rabbi Maurice Harris grew up in Creve Coeur and is a graduate of Parkway North High School (’87). He was ordained at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in 2003 and has worked as a congregational rabbi and as a member of the Thriving Communities department at Reconstructing Judaism, the central organization of the Reconstructionist movement. Rabbi Harris is the author of two books, “Moses: A Stranger among Us”, and “Leviticus: You Have No Idea”. He is an adoptive parent and a lifelong Cardinals fan.
