NCJWSTL Lunch & Learn with St. Louis Public Radio’s Jaclyn Driscoll

August 20, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

We will be welcoming St. Louis Public Radio’s Jaclyn Driscoll as our guest speaker for the August Lunch and Learn.

Jaclyn Driscoll is the Jefferson City statehouse reporter for St. Louis Public Radio. She joined the politics team in 2019 after spending two years at the Springfield, Illinois NPR affiliate. Jaclyn covered a variety of issues at the statehouse for all of Illinois’ public radio stations but focused primarily on public health and agriculture-related policy. Before joining public radio, Jaclyn reported for a couple of television stations in Illinois and Iowa as a general assignment reporter.

Jaclyn is going to talk about the unique issues faced by the legislature due to COVID-19 and the truncated session. For example, what bills have slipped through and what bills may have been ignored during this time.

One of those bills that slipped through was the effort to overturn Clean Missouri, which is designed to keep children and immigrants off of official counts for redistricting. This issue will be taken to the people on November 3rd as Amendment 3, even though voters overwhelmingly passed Clean Missouri in 2018.

We hope you will join us in the discussion on August 20th!
