Criminal Justice Reform Education Series – Stories From the System

September 22, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm

JCRC, along with our partners, Women’s Voices Raised for Social Justice and the Peace and Justice Commission of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, invite you to participate in our Criminal Justice Reform Education Series. The inequities people of color suffer at the hands of the justice system constitutes of the most pressing civil rights crises in the United States. Missouri’s prisons are overcrowded and the choice today is to build more prisons, at tremendous expense, or change the way in which people are sentenced, rehabilitated and released. The voice of the Jewish Community, in coalition with others, can spur the reforms needed in Missouri.

Please join us for a panel discussion featuring justice-involved individuals who will educate on the school to prison pipeline, opportunities and challenges during incarceration, and the challenges faced when returning after incarceration. This panel will enlighten listeners on why our system is broken through their own personal stories of incarceration and its impacts.
