Pioneering Jewish Rock Sensation Rick Recht to Lead Musical Shabbat Service at Temple Israel

Rick Recht, the most celebrated Jewish artist of our time, will lead a musical Shabbat Service on Friday, January 19, 2018. The service is free and open to the public. Recht will share songs from his hit Shabbat albums, Shabbat Alive! and Simply Shabbat. Rick Recht’s “Shabbat Alive!” family service is an interactive, spiritual, musical Shabbat service involving the participation of Temple Israel’s Senior Rabbi, Amy Feder. Recht’s concert is presented by Temple Israel and Deutsch Early Childhood Center. “Shabbat Alive! services have a unique, spiritual feeling,” said Rick Recht.  “It’s amazing to join a community in a beautiful Shabbat setting, which is so inspiring to Jewish youth and adults. This is what Judaism is all about.  I love the music, the interaction, and the talented congregants that participate during the service. Right away, everyone feels aligned and connected to each other and their Jewish heritage.” Recht is the top-touring Jewish artist today, performing more than 125 concerts each year across the country. Recht’s powerful performances have earned him a strong, loyal national fan base. Recht has become an icon for Jewish youth, elevating the medium of Jewish music as a powerful and effective tool for developing Jewish pride and identity. Not only is Recht a top Jewish performer, educator, and leader, but he is also the founder and Executive Director of Jewish Rock Radio, the first high-caliber, 24/7, Jewish rock internet radio station found at www.jewishrockradio.com. He is also Executive Director of Songleader Boot Camp (www.songleaderbootcamp.com), Jewish leadership training programs and conferences for Jewish educators, clergy, and veteran and new songleaders. “We are so excited to have Rick Recht at Shabbat services on January 19. He brings an incredible energy and provides an unforgettable experience for everyone who attends – adults and kids alike” said Amy Feder, Senior Rabbi at Temple Israel.  Temple Israel is a caring, inclusive community committed to living Reform Judaism and participating in the sacred destiny of the Jewish people and Israel through education, worship, and repair of the world.
