Purim Carnival Returns to Shaare Emeth

The Purim Carnival returns to Congregation Shaare Emeth on Sunday, February 25. Join us for a morning of fun, games and music for the whole family. The day will begin with a Boker Tov Purim event from 10:30 a.m. – 11 a.m. Wear a costume and you may win a prize! From 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., carnival games will be open. Purchase a wristband in the Temple office or online for unlimited access to games. If you buy yours between February 4th and 23rd, the cost in $13. They will be available for $15 on the day of the carnival. You won’t want to miss the fun and exciting area for preschoolers in the Bnai El Chapel, return of Jacob’s Ladder in the Kehillah Center, balloon animals, face painting fun games for all ages and – of course – the PRIZE STATION! Every child can visit the prize station as they leave the carnival. Participate in the Four Mitzvot of Purim: 1. SHALACH MANOT GIFTS OF FOOD – Deliver a bag of goodies to a home-bound congregant. Grab a bag made by our Caring Committee on your way out of the Purim Carnival. 2. MATANOT L’EVYONIM GIFTS TO THOSE IN NEED – Bring non-perishable proteins (peanut butter, canned chili, hearty soups, etc.) to be donated to the Harvey Kornblum Food Pantry. Bring these either to the Carnival on the 25th or the Shpiel on 28th. 3. SEUDAT PURIM ENJOY A FESTIVE MEAL – At the Purim Carnival, eat lunch catered by MOSHE. 4. QUEEN Esther’s Purim: A Rock Opera Featuring the Music of Queen

Join us for a rockin’ Purim celebration including a brief megillah reading, an amazing Purim shpiel and a festive Purim-themed dessert at Shaare Emeth on Wednesday, February 28, at 7 p.m. This incredible shpiel was written by Patrick Siler and merges the music of QUEEN with the story of Esther for a Purim celebration unlike any other. The performance will feature the Mack Daddyz and the Not-Ready-for-Purim-Time Players with musical direction by Steve Neale.
