Can I Be Pro-Israel and Pro-Peace in the 21st Century?

Can I Be Pro-Israel and Pro-Peace in the 21st Century?
When: Wednesday, March 21, 7:30–9 p.m.
Where: Congregation Shaare Emeth (11645 Ladue Rd, St. Louis, MO 63141)

As supporters of Israel’s future as the democratic homeland for the Jewish people, we are deeply concerned about the events of the past year. But we know that giving up is not an option. We know that as pro-Israel, pro-peace Americans, we need to take action to restore U.S. credibility and move closer to a two-state solution. To do that, we need to understand the complex dynamics playing out here in the U.S. and in the region. What does the creeping annexation of the West Bank encouraged by Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu mean for the prospects for a two-state solution? What are the implications of President Trump’s announcement recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and his pledge to move the embassy?

Join us for a conversation with J Street President Jeremy Ben-Ami and Congregation Shaare Emeth’s Rabbi Jim Bennett where we will tackle tough questions like these and more!

More information about Jeremy can be found below. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact J Street Midwest Assistant Regional Director Elizabeth Silverstein at elizabeth@jstreet.org.

Jeremy Ben-Ami is the founder and President of J Street, bringing to the role both deep experience in American politics and government and a passionate commitment to the state of Israel. Ben-Ami’s family connection to Israel goes back 130 years to the first aliyah when his great-grandparents were among the first settlers in Petah Tikva. His grandparents were one of the founding families of Tel Aviv, and his father was an activist and leader in the Irgun, working for Israel’s independence and on the rescue of European Jews before and during World War II.
