Basics of Belly Dancing

Get ready to shimmy like you’re in Shushan! The J’s Jewish Arts & Soul Project presents the Basics of Belly Dancing. Belly dance artist, instructor and Artistic Director of Aalim Dance, Lois Salwa Marshall, highlights the Middle Eastern origins of belly dancing and its connections to the Purim story. Participants practice basic movements such as torso articulation and hip isolation before enjoying a performance by the expert herself.
