This exhibition, including documents and artifacts, illustrates the St. Louios Jewish community’s response to discrimination in general and anti-Semitism. Selected documentation drawn from the 1950s through the 1970s reveals the varied actions and reactions to wartime concerns, post-war discrimination, religious and political extremism, the Communist ‘Red Scare, Civil Rights and the establishment of Israel. A panel discussion will be held on February 9, 2014 in conjunction with STL250 celebration of the 250th birthday of St. Louis City/County.
